Flathead Rodeo / Wild Bill & The Flying Sparks
Based in Western Massachusetts, Flathead Rodeo plays a blend of primary rock and roll (also known as rockabilly) and the music that influenced it: blues, rhythm and blues, jazz, western swing, and country and western. The group plays music by such artists as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Bill Haley, Wanda Jackson, and others. The group also plays original compositions in the style of the above categories and artists. In July, 2017, the band took top honors at Mark Sherrys Valley Music Showcase, an event that highlights the latest and greatest emerging talent in Western New England.
Wild Bill and the Flying Sparks, from Western Massachusetts, play a mix of Country Music and Roots Rock Americana. The Sparks cover artists such as Buck Owens, Hank Williams, Bill Kirchen, Dwight Yokham, Townes Van Zant, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Steve Earle and The Band. Honky Tonk rules the Sparkss hearts and repertoire which includes a number of original tunes as well. Featured instruments include: Pedal Steel, Accordion, Piano, Guitars Acoustic and Electric, Stand Up Bass and strong voices.
