Sublime 2019 Fund-raising Drive
Associate Artistic Director, John Crutchfield, and I, and our artistic associates Kristi DeVille, David Hopes, Todd Weakley, Henry Williamson III, and Lisa Yoffee, are thrilled with the reception of our debut production, "TRNZ." But there's so much more to come! We're building what we trust will be a long-lasting not-for-profit company in Asheville that will enable local theater artists and writers to create, produce, and promote new work that is both artistically ambitious and economically viable, and to rediscover classic and neglected work that helps expand everyones sense of the possible. In 2019, we plan to present the classic Off-Broadway double bill of Edward Albee's "The Zoo Story" and Samuel Beckett's "Krapp's Last Tape" (directed by Henry Williamson III and starring Scott Fisher and Steven Samuels); the next in our How-To series of sketch comedies, "Rules and How To Break Them" (featuring the How-To crew, led by head writer Lisa Yoffee and director Steven Samuels); the next original play from Todd Weakley's company, The Cardboard Sea; and world premiere plays by David Hopes and John Crutchfield. We also intend to start publishing scripts of the plays we've originated, to help bring them to a wider audience.
Any tax-deductible contribution, large or small, will be hugely helpful and enormously appreciated. If you send a check to The Sublime Theater & Press at 49 Faircrest Road, Asheville, NC 28804-1848, we get every penny. If it's more convenient for you to contribute online, you can do that here.
Please know how grateful we are for your support. We simply can't do this without you!
