IN THE WAR - by Kotoba Dan - NYWinterfest 2019 - Theater Festival Competition
The story of an ordinary Japanese woman who survived WW2, based on true events from the lives of the playwrights grandparents. When 76 year-old Hisakos granddaughter asks her about her experience during the war, Hisako reminisces about her 20s, set to the beautiful music of her youth.
