Regenerative Agriculture and Soil Health - Intensive Workshop 2019
This workshop has a limited capacity of 30 participants.
What this workshop offers This 2-day intensive workshop will provide participants with insight into the potential of regenerative agriculture and soil health for the growth of their farms and businesses.
We will be providing a platform for making better decisions that mutually benefit both the producer and the landscape.
With the workshop's heavy focus on regenerative agriculture and soil health, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to appropriately engage with their water management systems while promoting plant fertility governed mainly by soil biology.
Other topics we will be covering include: - Farm planning and management - Streamlining farming operations with regenerative design - Water management and farm hydrology - Fundamentals of soil ecology and microbiology's role in plant production - Integrated pest management and promotion of biodiversity - Regenerative agriculture for business growth and how to effectively market your business
Educators
Ryan Hill Ryan is an international Regenerative Agriculture and Land Management professional, and founder of Permanent Consulting where he designs and executes innovative agricultural solutions. Mentored by Geoff Lawton, and educated by Dr. Elaine Ingham, and Alan Savoury, Ryan's focus is eliminating reliance on the destructive practices of conventional agriculture, by building modern farming systems with cutting-edge strategies that repair and regenerate the environment.
Jo Tobias Jo is a Regenerative Soils Consultant and founder of RootShoot, a soil health consulting service, and the only formally recognized soil food web lab in Western Canada. RootShoot has been helping farmers, landscape designers and cannabis producers throughout BC and Alberta. As a soil health advisor under the mentorship of Dr. Elaine Ingham, regenerating the natural balance and symbiotic relationship between plants and soil is Jo's main priority.
