Wheeling Orchesis invites children from ages 3 to 13 to participate in an afternoon workshop and perform in our Showcase concert with Orchesis members.

COST: $30 (Fee includes free concert admission for the child, 1 adult concert ticket, certificate, and T-shirt.)
This performance workshop is a way for dancers to reach the community on a broader level. Proceeds from this project help fund our guest artist series. Through the history of the workshop, thousands of young dancers have graced the Sang Theatre stage from over 20 communities. Many past participants continue in their high school dance programs, at Wheeling and other schools.
Workshop Styles Offered

CLASS SIZES ARE LIMITED
Preschool - Yellow (ages 3-5) -Uses movement and action to make a story come to life.
Ballet Pink (grades K-4th) A beginning study of this traditional dance form.
Musical Theatre - Gray (grades 2nd-6th) Learn styles of dance featured in musical numbers.
Co-ed Hip Hop - Blue (grades K-3rd or 4th-8th) Boys and girls class
Contemporary Green (grades 4th-8th) A more fluid form of movement
Visual Arts (grades K-8th)
A non-performance option. Participants will work with arts students to create visual art projects.
Latin Dance - Red (grades 4th-8th) An introduction to the style of this cultural dance form.
Jazz and Poms (Purple) (grades K-3rd or 4th-8th)
Basic Jazz techniques used in dance team and pom squad dances.
Boys are welcome to take any class. You will ONLY receive a call if the first-choice workshop is filled. Bring a shirt of the color indicated for the performance. In order to provide an optimal experience, workshop groups will not exceed five children per Orchesis teacher preschool, no more than four children per teacher. Classes are filled based on the date paid registration is received. Sorry but we are unable to process phone registrations.
