The Yeomen of the Guard

The Sudbury Savoyards are thrilled to present our Winter 2019 production of Gilbert and Sullivans The Yeomen of the Guard. Set in the Tower of London in the days of Henry VIII, the show has elements of comedy, tragedy, intimacy and pageantry. Gilbert's plot combines a myriad of twists and turns with a host of believable and sympathetic characters; Sullivan contributed one of his grandest scores.

Since 1961, the Sudbury Savoyards have specialized in "Gilbert and Sullivan on a grand scale," with elaborate sets and costumes. This production will feature a full orchestra playing Sullivan's original orchestration. Performances will take place in the modern auditorium of the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, 390 Lincoln Road, Sudbury, Massachusetts.

Produced by Graham Daley and directed by Tony Parkes (stage) and Kathryn Denney (music), Yeomen features a cast combining long-time Savoyards and talented local singers who are new to the company:
