"Women Who Folking Rock returns to its new home at Michaels on Main for an evening of original music with original women. Join us for a night of music making featuring local gals, Angela Blessing, Elisabeth Carlisle, Janet Croteau and Lydia Joy Davis. Each performer brings an authentic style to her handcrafted songs that promises to regale the senses and expand the mind.
Angela Blessing celebrates beauty, nature and the sacredness of life in her art and music. She is a local treasure: culinary chef, jewelry designer and songstress.
Elisabeth Carlisle has performed extensively for throughout the US, Europe and Japan for the last 20 years. She graduated with a degree in music from UC Santa Barbara, moved to LA and toured with Bands such as the Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Meredith Brooks, Rusty Anderson (Paul McCartney) and the late Peter Banks (Yes). From Los Angeles she moved to Sweden where lived and recorded her last CDs. She released her new single Beyond These Walls in July 2018 followed by a Northwest tour from Montana to California.
Janet Croteau is a Santa Cruz, CA based songwriter, comedian, spoken word artist and psychotherapist.
Her music is infused with her quirky and effervescent spirit. She believes that if you stop being who you are that the real people will never find you. With lyrical abandon, Janet brings an authentic and humorous presence to the stage. The inspiration for her folk/Americana style songwriting comes from the beauty and madness of the world. Janet recently finished and released her first album, Wild Heart. She is the producer and creator for the Women Who Folking Rock series that has found its new home at Michaels on Main.
Lydia Joy Davis has been playing professionally for 20 years around the bay area. She attended music school at Mannes College of Music in New York City. She also does studio work on violin/vocals. Lydia has several singles out on iTunes, Amazon, Youtube, Spotify and many other platforms. She is working on self-producing and writing an album of Bluesy Freakfolk Anti-Heroine Anthems, and Badgirl Ballads.
