Rick Denzien and Debra Lee of Lyra Project
Rick Denzien is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, recording artist and producer as well as an educator and eco-sustainability activist. Debra Lee is a singer, songwriter, pianist, Voice Works vocal coach and educator. This performance will feature Denzien performing his songs with Lee backing him and Lee performing Lyra Project songs with Denzien backing her.
This will be their first performance in the Philadelphia area since returning from their 7,000+ mile tour in an electric vehicle (EV). Their Go Out and Play tour, which took them to California and back, was completely gas-free and zero emissions, combining their love of performing and passion for sustainability.
Denzien is the founder of and is considered a leader in the zero-emission musician movement. On Earth Day in 2018, he produced the second annual Thrive Fest (www.ThriveFest.us), an original music and sustainability conference held in Ambler, PA. The festival included over 30 performing artists at select venues, music industry and sustainability professionals and an electric vehicle show. He is a passionate conservationist and his goal is to spread his music as well as his knowledge of EVs to the public and other musicians. For more information please visit www.RickDenzien.com.
Lyra Project is Debra Lee's alter ego. Lee performs what is described as empowered alt-pop music. Its always tuneful and articulate, connecting emotionally with the listener on socially-relevant themes running the gamut of love lost, gained, and found again, and where the sensual meets the spiritual for an overall feel-good vibe.
Lyra Project is named after the Lyra constellation in the Vegas star system, based on a Greek myth where Zeus tossed the lyre of Orpheus into the heavens. The lyre is also the ancient ancestor of their instruments, guitar and piano. Project infers a work in progress, always evolving and expanding. Lyra Projects latest CD is entitled Goddess. For more information visit www.lyraproject.com.
Denzien and Lee record their projects at Bah-Fo Studio (www.Bah-FoStudio.com), which is powered exclusively by wind and rooftop solar energy. The studio is zero emissions for carbon and methane.
