The Tempest
On a distant island a man waits. Robbed of his position, power and wealth, his enemies have left him in isolation. But this is no ordinary man, and this no ordinary island. Prospero is a magician, able to control the very elements and bend nature to his will. When a sail appears on the horizon, he reaches out across the ocean to the ship that carries the men who wronged him. Creating a vast magical storm he wrecks the ship and washes his enemies up on the shore. When they wake they find themselves lost on a fantastical island where nothing is as it seems.
Indoors at the beautiful Paseo Theatre, Oklahoma Shakespeare presents this classic tale of romance, shipwrecks, and redemption. A timeless tale whose message of empathy, forgiveness, and hope is perhaps needed now more than ever. Join us this fall and put a little magical romance in your life!
The running time of the play is 2-hours. There is one 15-minute intermission. The play is suitable for all audiences.
Sensitivity Warning: Loud noises, flashing lights, and haze will be used during the performance.

Q&A
Question: |
How do I get the 2 for 1 city card discount when purchasing online? I selected the "citycard" discount code, and see the ticket info for this option, but I am unsure whether I should select 1 or 2 tickets. |
Answer: |
Hello, we do not offer a 2 for 1 discount for the OKCity Card. This was an outdated discount that was mistakenly printed by Allied Arts. The actual discount is 10% off the General Admission price, valid for the cardholder and one guest. However, if you would like to bring the mis-printed brochure to the theatre, we will honor the discount on a one-time basis. Again, this cannot be done through BrownPaperTickets, and must be purchased at our venue. You may call (405) 235-3700 to make arrangements, or email info@okshakes.org with further questions. |
