The Everly Set
In 1957, teens Phil and Don Everly supercharged the vocal sound of RocknRoll with Bye Bye Love and Wake Up Little Susie, unleashing the sparkling vocal harmonies that would influence The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, The Eagles, Peter Paul & Mary, and the Bee Gees. Now, six decades later, two acclaimed NYC singer-songwriters with a death-defying, three-decade age difference combine millennial innocence with baby-boomer pluck to present The Everly Set: Sean Altman & Jack Skuller Celebrate The Everly Brothers, featuring Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Susie, Cathys Clown, All I Have To Do Is Dream, When Will I Be Loved, Crying In The Rain, Love Hurts, Bird Dog, Claudette, Walk Right Back, and more hits and rarities, in concert.  Aged-but-well-preserved Altman (Rockapella founder, Carmen Sandiego theme song composer) and teen-idol guitar-slinger Skuller (ex-Disney artist, Songwriters Hall Of Fame Holly Prize) met on stage at the famed NYC tribute series "The Losers Lounge in 2011 when Jack had just celebrated his 14th birthday and Sean had just celebrated his new AARP card.  Their December-January musical bromance blossomed in 2017, when as a lark they learned a bunch of Everly Brothers songs for a one-off gig in Manhattan.  Sean & Jack effectively channeled Phil & Don, and the audience effectively channeled blissful hysteria.  Within months The Everly Set had bought the first of ELEVEN sets of matching western shirts, signed with a fancy booking agent, and hit the road.  For a taste, check out the Everly Sets 60s-style late night infomercial on YouTube http://www.TheEverlySet.com and LIKE the band on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/TheEverlySet

Ex-Rockapella star Sean Altman is "tuneful and sharply witty" (LA Times) and "relentlessly clever" (Chicago Tribune), with catchy melodies, clever arrangements and lyrics that yield satiric gems (Washington Post), combining "the tunefulness of the Beatles and the spot-on wit of Tom Lehrer (Boston Globe) with a silky tenor voice that produced chills (NY Times). Altman, widely regarded as the Father of Modern A Capella, co-founded and led Rockapella on the Emmy-winning PBS-TV series "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?", for which he co-wrote the theme song.  He currently sings a cappella with The GrooveBarbers and Doowopera, original pop songs on guitar as a solo artist and original comedy songs as JEWMONGOUS. (Note: JEWMONGOUS will come to Next Stage on December 23.)

Jack Skuller is the 2014 recipient of the Holly Prize, an award made possible by the Songwriters Hall of Fame as a tribute to the legacy of Buddy Holly. He's received press coverage in the NY Post, Examiner, Teen Vogue, J-14, and American Songwriter Magazine among many others. The Deli Magazine wrote, Jack Skuller is a teen idol in the wrong era. Buddy Holly would be proud. Skuller has performed his original music around the country with Radio Disney. He is a regular performer with the acclaimed Losers Lounge tribute series at Joes Pub in NY. His latest singles have been released on indie label Mint 400 Records.
