Rocha Dance Theater Holiday Hoopla!

Come party with us to support RDTs new production Half-Heard. This Holiday Hoopla will dazzle you with pop up performances by RDT, The Painted Ladies and some surprise nightlife guests. Sip a cocktail, suck on a candy cane, peruse some amazing gifts at our silent auction, watch video of RDT's past and present, and shake it on the dance floor with DJ Joe Rivas. Appetizers and desserts will be provided. Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Half-Heard will premiere Friday, February 15th 8 pm at the Gerald Lynch Theater at John Jay College. This original work by Jenny Rocha integrates dance, theatrical parody and costume design to create a satirized version of a womans struggle with being less heard in workplace environment. The work highlights the absurdity of this human behavior with an all-female identifying, and at times, drag cast. Half-Heard was developed with the support of a 2018-19 CUNY Dance Initiative Residency at John Jay College.
