Spiritus Chamber Choir - Ukraine: Sacred Choral Concerti - St. Stephen Ukrainian Catholic Church
To celebrate Alberta Cultural Days, our 2013/14 season begins with the powerful sacred music of the Ukraine. Featuring two choral concertos byArtem Vedel (1767-1808) along with six hymns from his Liturgy, we will also feature music by Ukrainian-Canadian composer Roman Hurko (b. 1962) - his Requiem for the victims of Chornobyl, and the Canadian premiere of several hymns from his Liturgy No.3. We are grateful for the support of the Ukrainian Millennium Foundation in presenting the two performances on September 27 (St. Stephen's Promartyr Church at 8:00pm) and September 29 (St. Mary's Cathedral at 2:30pm). Join us for this cultural feast!
