FRENCH ACADEMIE OF BALLET - OPEN AUDITION
ABOUT THE PROGRAM The French Academie of Ballet offers pre-professional ballet training to serious dancers ages 11-21. Our curriculum is based on the French School of classical technique. Weekday classes begin in the afternoon to allow dancers to attend traditional academic schools. Dancers are encouraged to enroll in the full-time program but a part-time program is offered to dancers who can not commit to a 6-day program.
ABOUT THE AUDITION CLASS You will want show up a half hour before the scheduled audition in order to register (if you haven't pre-registered), get an audition number and have time to warm up. Please also remember to bring your photos (headshot and 1st arabesque).
The French Academie of Ballet's auditions are in the form of an abbreviated ballet technique class. Girls and boys audition together. Girls will have pointe work. There is no dress code for the audition class, however, dancers should dress as they would for any ballet class. Solid leotard, tights, hair off of the face, etc. Men should be in tights and a T-shirt. No baggy or loose clothes, including skirts. Female dancers should bring their pointe shoes.
