Workshop: Paper Cutting - Scherenschnitte
Learn the art and craft of paper cutting with scissors, a tradition that spans many cultures, including Ukraine, Poland and throughout Eastern Europe. Get inspired by textiles, history and a love of paper to make your own high-contrast cutout to keep or gift to a loved one in this four-hour workshop.
Teaching artist Margret Darrah is an avid snipper of paper and fabric, having been introduced at an early age to scissor craft by her mothers art professor. She worked for many years at Esthers Fabrics, and now creates from her home studio in Ballard, close to the Scandinavian epicenter of Seattle.
A kit of supplies valued at $20 is included in the cost of the workshop.
