Disco Bistro EC4 - Goodbye For Now
***Please note that £45 dinner tickets get you into the after party but you will not receive a 'Disco Zinger' burger. Admission to the after party is from 8pm***
'Goodbye For Now' is not only a celebration of Carl Clarke's critically acclaimed residency in the heart of St. Paul's, it's also a recognition of the changing culinary environment. The barriers between chefs have been broken down in recent years with social media ushering in a new era where kitchens are creative forums for those at the top of their game to share ideas and educate one another. Those with an interest in food and a smartphone have helped elevate chefs to superstar DJ status and Carl has tried to reflect this by putting on a party where food and music have equal billing. Now let's have a bite and a dance shall we?
DJs for the night include Gizzi Erskine, Russ Cuban and a special guest so famous that we're not even allowed to mention it. At all.
This event will prove hugely popular and there will be many - hundreds - who will miss out on tickets to the main dinner. That's why the chefs have decided to sell 100 tickets to the after party at £20 each. Evening revellers won't just be enjoying the DJs though, oh no. That's not Disco Bistro's style. Those with after party tickets will be fuelled by the chefs' favourite sandwich: The 'Disco' Zinger Tower burger. Each chef has chosen an element of the burger they'd like to focus on: Jocky provides the heat with his 18 month aged chilli salt, James Knappett's making bacon jam, James Lowe is on pickle duty and who else but Carl to fry the chicken? The buns will arrive with Disco Bistro's signature cheesy chips with smoked short rib and crispy onions. So you've got a fast food production line using the finest Cornish ingredients and run by best chefs in the country. No hyperbole.
Sponsors Courvoisier will be providing a welcome drink and some of the dishes will feature beers from Sharp's Brewery as an ingredient. Meat is provided by quality Cornish butchers Philip Warren and Matt Chatfield of the Cornish Grill. Vegetables come from Keveral Farm in Looe.
