Poets' Theater with Bob Holman
From Shakespeare to Shange, poets have a habit of bringing their verses to life in the mouths of characters. In Bobs Poets' Theater workshop, you will experience the art of theater from all angles writing, directing, acting, producing, centered on finding the playfulness in plays. No experience necessary. Bring some writing neednt be in script format to the first class. References include: Brecht, OHara, Artaud, Jarry, Suzan-Lori Parks, Koch, Baraka, Spalding Gray, Dael Orlander-Smith, Mayakovsky.
Bob Holman has performed his poems and acted in plays around the world, made poetry movies, recorded albums, started a spoken word label, and taught at Princeton, NYU, Columbia, Bard and The New School.
