New Summer Shorts 2013
This year's "shorts" include: "Barking at Butterflies" - Two Spanish Water Dogs, Bella and Marco, reflect on life, relationships, people and butterflies in this amalgamation of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Samuel Becket; "H. Davidson" - Judy hopes to live out her golden years playing Mahjong and frequenting early bird specials. Jerry, her husband of 60 years, wants one more chance to channel his inner bad boy. Judy's creative compromise leaves Jerry saying "uncle"; "Hats" - At a crucial moment in their relationship, a couple of promising actors confront the possibility of living apart because of their careers; "Robots" - When a fully automated factory is forced to close due to economic slowdown, human management understands the logic, but the robots' response is unexpected; "Stalking Polyanna" - On the New York subway a man spots his boyhood crush, child actress Hayley Mills, now middle-aged. He stealthily follows her to another car, much to the dismay of his high-maintenance younger boyfriend; "Sweet" - Welcome to "Sweet," a world of cunning competition and ruthless rivalry, where even the most demure dispositions are driven to savage acts of trickery and deception; "Ten" - There's something about our brothers and sisters that transforms us from fully-functioning, rational adults to ten years old in a heartbeat. 'Twas ever thus; and "The Uncertain Ones" - The mating dance, already a complicated affair, gets even tougher when you can't figure out with whom you're supposed to dance. Oops.
