Hawaiian Slack Key Grammy Winners - George Kahumoku, Jr. and Keoki Kahumoku with Norton Buffalo
Appearing in concert at the Mello Center for Performing Arts, one of three stops on their Northern California Tour, are two talented slack key musicians who have contributed most recently to the 2008 Grammy award winning compilation album, "Treasures of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar". George Kahumoku,Jr., one of Hawaii's most well known slack key guitarists, has performed throughout the world. He is a multi-talented musician, singer, storyteller, teacher and farmer. Keoki Kahumoku is a fifth generation slack key guitarist. Keoki is known for his efforts to preserve the Hawaiian heritage by teaching and sharing the Hawaiian culture and music with the younger generations. Also appearing will be Norton Buffalo, one of the most versatile and talented harmonica players in the music business.
