Live at Studio5: TYPHANIE MONIQUE
Typhanie Monique, vocal Ben Lewis, piano Neal Alger, guitar Matt Ulery, bass Jon Deitemyer, drums
A modern-day Sarah Vaughan with iridescent traces of Lena Horne. JazzTimes
When Typhanie Monique shows up to perform you know youre going to get an incredible voice and a lot of soul. She presented a beautiful concert at Studio5 last year all on the theme of shadow and light, and Evanston Dance Ensemble fans will recall that Typhanie was the featured vocalist as part of EDEs 2015 production, The Music Moves, weaving through the EDE dancers as she sang. She's a versatile vocalist, a lovely songwriter, and an engaging performer. We are excited to welcome Typhanie back to the Studio5 stage: This time she will be diving into the extensive catalogue of the great Aretha Franklin! Some of Chicagos finest musicians will join Typhanie in a night of soulful sounds, sharing her favorite Aretha Franklin classics and adding a few holiday songs to put you in a spirited mood.
Join us. We'll be recording this performance for Chicago Jazz Live on WDCB, so you'll be part of the studio audience!
Cash bar, light snacks, free parking right outside. Doors open for cocktails at 7:30.
[NOTE: ONLINE TICKET SALES END ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. REMAINING TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR.]
