Polyakin-Aarons-Graber Trio

Violinist Lev Polyakin, a member of the Cleveland Orchestra, studied at the Moscow Consevratory with Yuri Yankelevich and Leonid Kogan and at 21 was appointed co-concertmaster of the elite Moscow Chamber Orchestra. He was regularly featured as soloist, with many performances recorded. He is presently assistant concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra, also serving as concertmaster in the Aspen Music Festival, were Aarons is in faculty.
Martha Aarons' professional career began with her appointment as principal flute of the North Carolina Symphony, after which she played with the Cleveland Orchestra for 25 years. She now performs regularly with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Iris Orchestra. In 2002 she served as assistant professor at the Eastman School of Music. In 2003 Ms. Aarons performed the Aspen Music Festival premier of the Flute Concerto by Christopher Rouse. Her CD, The History of the Tango, is recorded on the Azica label.
Pianist Miles Graber, a fixture in music in the Bay Area, since 1971, has earned a wide reputation as an accompanist and collaborative pianist for instrumentalists and singers. He has performed with numerous solo artists, including Sarah Chang, Cho-Liang, Camilla Wicks, Axel Strauss, Mimi Stillman and Judith LeClair. He has accompanied master classes by such artists as Midori, Joseph Silverstein, James Galway, Lynn Harrell and Yo-Yo Ma. He is on the faculty of The Crowden School in Berkeley and San Domenico Conservatory in San Anselmo and is an accompanist and chamber music coach in the Preparatory Division of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
