Ricky Ross - Glad Cafe Benefit Concert.
The Glad Cafe is overly delighted to present Ricky Ross in concert, raising funds for our non-profit social enterprise! Ricky will be performing songs and telling stories spanning his incredibly successful 25 year career in music. With Deacon Blue, Ricky released 4 critically acclaimed albums - 3 of them top 5 successes - before the band broke up in 1995. Ricky's major label solo debut, What You Are was released by Epic in 1996 and since then, he has released 3 more solo albums and 1 album with wife, Lorraine McIntosh under the name McIntosh Ross. Deacon Blue returned with a show in 1999 and went on to release a collection of new songs, previously unreleased tracks and songs with previously limited availability entitled Walking Back Home. Homesick was released in 2001 and the band have been touring sporadically over the past decade. Throughout this time Ricky has written some major hits with many big name artists such as James Blunt, Ronan Keating, Cathy Burton, Gareth Gates, Will Young and Jamie Cullum. In 2012, Deacon Blue released a new album called The Hipsters, produced by Paul Savage (formerly of The Delgados and producer of The Phantom Band, Franz Ferdinand, Camera Obscura, Mogwai and many more) then earlier this year, a new, beautiful, stripped down Ricky Ross album called Trouble Came Looking was released. Now Ricky comes to The Glad Cafe's venue for an intimate show to raise funds for our humble cafe!!! We're so happy to have him!
