Seminar Objectives:
Overall accessibility requirements and how Public ADA Title II Projects differ from Title III projects. Review some of the differences between ADA Standards and CBC.
Attendees will review ~ 1.Major elements of accessibility 2.Different project types: Public and private Discuss ~ 3.What are the applicable regulations? 4.What is a transition plan? 5.Role of furniture and furnishings in providing access. 6.Effect of occupants and maintenance on accessibility.
Speaker's Bio: Ms. Afshar is an AIA member architect with 30 years of experience in commercial and public facilities, with a focus on interior architecture and accessibility. She has been involved with Access related work since 1991. Ms. Afshar is also CID, LEED AP and CASp certified.
