Get A Grip On Yourself!
DESCRIPTION Good Medicine Presents Get a Grip on Yourself! This 3-hour workshop will focus on the fundamentals of a physical vocabulary for the actor. In other words, it will help you make your body say what it wants when you have an audience! Participants will examine how such practices can build more engaging and dynamic performances in traditional theater as a way to nurture your actor's toolbox. The workshop includes both individual and group exercises. All skill levels and abilities welcome! 18+
TEACHER BIO Pamela Chermansky is a Chicago Theatre Artist whose roots are right here in Ohio. She was on the faculty of The Goldston and Johnson School for Mimes held at Kenyon College, and was a tourning member of The Invisible People Mime Theatre. Pamela was also a student and assistant to Marcel Marceau during his many workshops in Gambier and Chicago. Her work has taken her throughout the United States, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, France and Mexico. She currently works as a performer and teacher for Healthy Humor, Vaudeville Chicago and Good Medicine Productions. Pamela is also a member of The Ruffians - a Chicago based theatre collective known for their critically acclaimed work in "Burning Bluebeard".
A portion of workshop proceeds goes directly to our Pediatric and Senior Living Program.
