Led by six-time GRAMMY Nominee Will Clipman, with very special guest Coyote Jump co-facilitators Colin Farish and Savannah Jo Lack, this workshop explores the subtle dynamics, polyrhythmic possibilities, and harmonic and melodic nuances of pan-global percussion in an accessible and encouraging community setting. Participants are invited to bring a favorite drum and/or other percussion instrument. Building on body percussion and vocalization, then working through individual rhythmic patterns to a full-on ensemble orchestration, Becoming One With Your Inner Drum is centered in the concept that you are your own most wonderful instrument. Open to participants of all ages and skill levels, this workshop is light on rules and heavy on fun, with an emphasis on in-the-moment inspiration and free-spirited improvisation.
WILL CLIPMAN began playing his father's drums and his mother's piano at the age of three. He played his first professional gig at fourteen, and has since then mastered a pan-global palette of over one hundred percussion instruments in addition to the traditional drumset. Will is a six-time GRAMMY Nominee, a three-time Native American Music Award Winner, a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award Winner, a New Age Reporter Music Award Winner, and a two-time TAMMIE Award Winner; and has been inducted into the Tucson Musicians Museum for his contributions to the musical community in his hometown. Will has recorded over sixty albums, including over thirty for Canyon Records, where he is regarded as the house percussionist. In addition to his solo work, Will performs with R. Carlos Nakai, William Eaton, Solvei & ZumaSOL, Amber Norgaard, Gabriel Ayala, and Coyote Jump, among many other internationally-acclaimed artists and ensembles. Will's solo CD Pathfinder earned a GRAMMY Nomination for Best New Age Album. His Planet of Percussion performance and workshop provides a hands-on tour of world music rhythm and polyrhythm.

SAVANNAH JO LACK As a little girl, Savannah Jo built tree houses, grew vegetables and rode her bike around the sprawling streets of suburban Brisbane, Australia. Sometime around the age of 4, a violin bit her. Whilst not fatal, the incident did leave her with a strange bite mark on her neck and a long-standing love of all things string. Fast-forward 20 years and Savannah Jo Lack has left her own strange mark on the world. She and her violin have carved several enviable niches, none of which could completely contain them. Known to some as a violin soloist, to others as a string arranger and session musician, and to others as a composer and improv jazz musician, Savannah is an international woman of mystery. Until now, Savannah was best known to Australian audiences for her work with indie instrumental group, Trinkets, whose two albums earned her critical acclaim as well as a Golden Fiddle award for "Best CD, featuring a Violinist".Now dividing her time between homes in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Savannah reveals yet another layer, with the birth of her debut solo album, "Knitting Songs", a collection of breezy, engaging tunes, woven lovingly with wit and dexterity, and delivered at a mesmerizing back-porch-rocking-chair pace. Part earthy goddess, part sophisticate and mischievous six year old, Savannah describes "Knitting Songs' as, 'red earth and desert sky with glistening strings and pixie twists'. http://www.savannahjolack.com/content/bio http://www.savannahjolack.com/videos
