JOIN US FOR A SPECIAL EVENING AT THE SCHINDLER HOUSE HOSTED BY THE MAK CENTER FOR ART AND ARCHITECTURE WITH YOLA MEZCAL FEATURING LYKKE LI AND IGNACIO MATTOS
THE MAK CENTER FOR ART AND ARCHITECTURE "One of my dreams, mother, is to have someday a little joy of a bungalow on the edge of woods and mountains near a crowded city which shall be open just as some people's hearts are open to friends of all classes and types." Pauline realized that dream with her marriage to architect Rudolph Schindler. Together they built the 1922 Kings Road House that would come to be known as the first modernist landmark in the United States. Pauline's radical social ideas informed its design as a live-work space for two couples and Los Angeles artistic and political avant-garde flocked to her salons for decades. The MAK Center for Art and Architecture was conceived in this spirit.
YOLA YOLA is handcrafted, distilled on their namesake farm, bottled by women, with a recipe passed down from Yola's grandfather. In 1971, Luis Jimenez purchased a mezcal farm in San Juan Del Rio, Oaxaca. Today, they still honor the same recipe, adding by the 300-year-old method of traditional mezcal making. Yola is dedicated to promoting the economic independence of women in Oaxaca.
