High Strung Strummers

High Strung Strummers is a high energy duo that specializes in the old-time dance music of Appalachia, and the performance of Anglo-American ballads that found their home in that region. Vocalist Sarah Jane Nelson is a multi-instrumentalist and song writer who has been playing traditional music for folk festivals, New England contra dances, and other regional events for over a decade. Cathy Mason is a highly accomplished fiddler and music instructor who has spent more than fourteen years studying Southern fiddle music with the masters of that tradition.

Carriage House Concerts brings the finest performers of Classical and traditional music to the beautifully restored 1793 Carriage House at Gore Place. Described as a lovely little music box of a room, the Carriage Room offers intimacy (capacity 75) and wonderful acoustics (most performances dont require amplification). Onsite parking is free and the facility is fully accessible.
