Written by Howard Barker
The Swedes and the Danes are opposed in a bloody and timeless conflict that serves as a pretext to explore obscure regions of the human soul. Like many other British works, this one is replete with dark humor, and displays the most savage cruelty with elegance and style. Howard Barkers theatrical use of language and actions led to a performative approach to the staging.
Directed by Jean-Fréderic Messier
Jean-Frédéric Messier is one of the founders of Momentum, a theatrical company based in Montreal that has produced more than thirty pieces since its beginning in 1990. He has also written many plays for other companies in Quebec and directed several pieces in different theatres in Canada and abroad.
