"It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play and Dinner Theatre Experience" presented by Herstory Theatre and The Arts at Angeloria's, LLC
It's Christmas Eve,1946,at the stage and auditorium of studio a at WBFR, Manhattan and you're all invited to dinner! "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" is based on the classic holiday movie with a clever twist thrown in: the story is staged as a live radio broadcast. Actors portray numerous characters, and sound effects are done through Foley artists. Its a Wonderful Life is about the life of George Bailey, a generous and well-meaning man who has become too downcast and tired to continue living. It will take help from a lovable angel to show George what life would be like if he wasn't born for George to have a change of heart and understand the true spirit of the holidays.

"As Christmas decorations were put up at the White House today, Mrs. Truman's secretaries announced the Christmas dinner menu. It was minus bread or rolls and butter, in keeping with the national food conservation program. Christmas Dinner: Tomato Consomme, Curled Celery, Assorted Olives, Roast Turkey, Chestnut Dressing, Giblet Gravy, Cranberry Jelly, Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, Plum Pudding, Molded Ring with Fruit, Candy, Nuts, Coffee."
---"Simple Menu Set For White House," The New York Times, December 23, 1947

Guests will be seated in the vintage theatre for the two acts and will circulate through the rooms of the main house as each of their dinner courses are served. This Christmas Eve dinner replicates a classic menu from 1946 and is brought to us by Carmela Marie Catering.Carmela Marie believes great food sets the stage (no pun intended) for perfect entertaining. They are a full-service, off premise caterer and event planner with over 30 years of experience all around the state of Connecticut.

The doors will open at 6:00 pm at which time guests will select their seats in the theatre and then begin exploring the main house. The soup/salad course of the custom designed 1946 Christmas Eve menu will be served beginning at 6:30pm with each row of the theatre assigned their own wait staff. The evening will progress with two performed acts on stage with an intermission for the main course and the dessert course immediately following Act Two. A fabulous way to get into the holiday spirit!

Our Menu is very close to Mrs. Truman's! Here's what you will enjoy:
