Event
Carmina Burana
This sparkling event features Carl Orff's beloved masterwork: at times irreverent, sweet, and funny, and always gorgeous musically!
You'll see Orff's chamber version of this great work, for full chorus, two pianos, and robust percussion; in addition, we're joined by top soloists: > Keith Harris, traveling from New York where he sings with the Metropolitan Opera, and where he has performed Carmina Burana at Lincoln Center (check out his youtube video highlights) > Serena Eduljee, soprano, highly acclaimed local soprano and a veteran of Seattle Opera engagements > José Luis Muñoz, whose counter-tenor is beautifully suited for Carmina Burana.
You'll also be the first to hear the world premiere of Canticles of Crimson, a significant new work from renowned local composer, Donald Skirvin. Ms. Tess Altiveros, familiar to long-time KCS fans for her heart-stirring voice, will be the featured soprano soloist.
When paired with complementary wine and chocolates (and other beverages) at intermission, you have an event - as noted elsewhere - that fully celebrates love, fate, music, and good times! This promises to be a memorable event, both fun and moving; not to be missed! In anticipation of the popularity of the event, we have added a second performance.
