Portland Revels Sign-Up: Intimate Concert with Grand Piano and Bass
Come to the home Cyndi Gulick and Ben Stutz from 3 to 5pm on Sunday for this fabulous concert in a perfect intimate setting. You will be treated to a delicious concert of piano and bass music. Concert pianist Susan Smith will play the resonant Concert Steinway piano there, while Don Hermanns (of the Oregon Symphony) performs moves on the bass that you never knew could be done.
Susan and Don do an inspiring job of bringing the music alive, talking about the composers, why the pieces were written, their history and context, etc. This makes their concerts unforgettable and creates the opportunity for calm and attentive youth to accompany you and enjoy a taste of classical music they will savor!
Symphony-level music, resoundingly up-close and personal, shared with your friends and family, enlivened with historical and anecdotal details what could be more delectable? Scrumptious hors d'oeuvres, desserts and wine will be served.

I was lucky enough to have heard the real thing last year at Cyndi Gulick and Ben Stutz's house, and you have a chance this year. Susan Smith is a phenomenal pianist, with virtuoso technique, impeccable taste, and an unpretentious manner. She can make a 9-foot Steinway concert grand thunder, frolic, or sing, and that combination of an extraordinary pianist and a magnificent instrument in a friendly, comfortable setting is an unforgettable musical experience.
