Wild Heart: Hunted, Gutted and Beloved
Kat Gurley and Control Group Productions co-present Wild Heart: Hunted, Gutted and Beloved A contemporary dance performance created/directed by Kat Gurley performing with Hallie Bauernschmidt, Mollie Wolf, Tara Rynders and Mimi Ferrie. June 13, 14 and 15, 7:30 p.m.
You are Hunted to come home. You are Gutted to be set free. You are and always were Beloved.
Wild Heart is a contemporary dance performance presented as a triptych: Hunted, Gutted and Beloved. The first section is a calling to come, to bring your whole self to the experience. You are being hunted from the start; the predator is within you and without, creating the experience of necessary arrival. The second section requires a destruction of image. You are gutted and filleted, thereby stripped of anything untrue. This allows your body to dance weightless and bare. The third section is the loss that leads to freedom. In the past, present and future, you are beloved.
Wild Heart is a performance collective created by Kat Gurley. The ensemble uses dance and physical transformation as the sole vehicle for performance. Their varied experiences and backgrounds are rooted in a passion for and love of dance. For the intangible beauty and the unspoken truths, they remain true to the source: that the body contains the answers, sensations and the ability to set the mind free.
