Patrick Bauer with Robert Baril
Patrick Bauer was destined to become a stand-up comic. The son of Twin Cities comedy legend, "Wild Bill" Bauer, Patrick never set off to follow in his father's footsteps. However, after failing to develop as a major league pitcher, a comic book artist, a musician, and a delivery boy, Patrick realized that he must quickly become a competent stand-up comic or face an eternity of waiting tables in Uptown Minneapolis. Armed with dozens of old notebooks filled with jokes, ideas and drawings of satanic bunnies, he has become one of the most original and funny acts in the highly competitive Minneapolis comedy scene.
A founding member of the "Minneapolis Comedy Death Squad", Patrick's style is dark and twisted, developed by reading an obscene amount of comic books. He was heavily influenced by Mad Magazine and Cracked and the weird humor of R. Crumb's underground comics. Patrick went from being a "straight up nerd" in high school to the "angry nerd' you see today. His twisted and geeky outlook helped him secure him a position as head writer and actor on the wildly successful Drinking with Ian television show - a Twin Cities cult favorite TV show.
Patrick's unique style makes him a comic to keep and eye on. He is quickly becoming a favorite in comedy competitions. He was a finalist in the Twin Cities Laff-Off and was a regional semi-finalist for two seasons of NBC's Last Comic Standing. Catch Patrick Bauer in an intimate comedy club setting while you still can.
A philosophy and political science major in college, Robert Baril draws on his educational background, as well as his experiences as a substitute teacher, for his acerbic material on society at large and it's current events. A recent opener for comedy legend in Louie Anderson in Las Vegas, as well as headlining his own stand up show at the Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, Baril's sharp delivery and compelling subject matter have made him a hit with crowds in the Twin Cities and he's excited to share his own brand of caustic, erudite humor with audiences all over the country.
