Flavors of the Mediterranean Walking Tour
Bring your appetite, walking shoes, and a cart to carry all of your purchased goodies home! Culinary treats reach beyond Grecian shores in Astoria, where you will sample flavors of the greater Mediterranean. Each stop along this walking tour offers a nibble, demonstration or shopping opportunity. Greek pastries, Bosnian bureks, a Mediterranean grocery, an Italian salumeria for a mozzarella making demonstration, then lunch in Egypt-- all within a one mile walk!
Meet inside Omonia Café (3220 Broadway Ave, Astoria. Corner of 33rd Street and Broadway. Take the N/Q train to the Broadway stop, walk 2 blocks east on Broadway). If parking, do not park in a short-term metered spot as we will be walking away from the start point. Our tour ends near Steinway and 28th Avenue.
