School Night Mondays Waterloo Edition
After selling out over 30 residency nights in Toronto, Danny Michel brings this wildly successful series back for another month at Waterloo's Jazz Room. Join Danny and surprise special guests for a wonderful evening of music.
With nominations for three JUNO Awards, The Polaris Prize, The CBC's "Heart Of Gold" AND a pile of albums under his belt, Danny Michel is unquestionably one of Canada's finest songwriters. His thoughtful lyrics & earnest performances have earned him a devoted fan base. He's truly a musical chameleon that has the ability to slip into many genres with ease. An adventurous & fearless artist. A master at striking the right balance between unpredictability and meeting expectations, leaving you wanting more as soon as it's over.
In 2011 Danny relocated to Belize and founded the Danny Michel Ocean Academy Fund to help raise scholarships for a small non-profit community high school. To date, he's raised over $70,000.00 for the school, and volunteers there when he can.
In 2017, Danny released his album "Khlebnikov" (written aboard a Russian Icebreaker on an arctic expedition with astronaut Chris Hadfield). The record received rave reviews from fans and media alike.
Danny's latest project began the journey of releasing a new album, one song at a time. The single Purgatory Cove from the White & Gold album currently has the unique distinction of simultaneously charting on both CBC Radio 2 (#3) and CBC Radio 3 (#4).
