About the specialty bottles to be auctioned 2003 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon, donated by Charlie Maliszewski. QC 2010 Quilceda Creek Vintners is widely considered to be on of Washington State's top wineries. QC Cabernet Sauvignon has received an unbroken string of exceptional reviews from the wine press during a truly impressive string of vintages from this century's first decade. The 2003 vintage was awarded scores in the 95-100 range from the likes of the Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Steven Tanzer, and Cellar Tracker. Here's an example of the enthusiastic response this wine has received: "....the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon displays mouth-watering aromatics of black chocolate, sage, and blackberry liqueur. Its awe-inspiring core of cassis liqueur, violets, blueberry nectar, black cherry syrup, and chocolate is immensely muscular yet elegant. Texturally reminiscent of liquid velvet, it slathers the palate with oodles of fruit, displaying unreal depth, balance, and length. Wow! Projected maturity: 2010-2024." Score: 100 Pierre-Antoine Rovani Wine Advocate, Issue 164, closing date 4-24-06 Current average market price: $309
Ghost Block 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville The fruit for the 2010 Ghost Block Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Rock Cairn vineyard. The 28-year-old vineyard in Oakville, Napa Valley that is 100% Certified Organic. The vines produce very concentrated fruit late in the season. Appellation: Oakville "Winemaker Rob Lawson over-delivers once again with the new release of 2010 Ghost Block Estate Cabernet Sauvignon! Finesse oriented with an elegant balance and plenty of structure, supported by bright aromas of roses, tobacco and spice. The attack is full on the palate with blackberries, cherries, cocoa, and cinnamon. The ripe mid palate ties together a long finish of cherries, caramel, spice, cassis and coffee." Score: 96 Current average market price: $75
