Small Acreage Tour - El Rancho Los Dos Amigos
Come see how to keep horses the green way! El Rancho Los Dos Amigos was recognized by WSU Clark County Extension as a model property in 2012 for great efforts made by the landowners to implement best management practices that improve operations while protecting water quality and natural resources. The landowners implemented practices they learned in the Small Acreage Program's Living On the Land class to address issues of mud, drainage, pasture management, manure and grazing.
This tour will cover a wide range of land and animal management topics such as manure management, pasture rotation, sacrifice areas/winter paddocks, weed management strategies, footing materials, drainage solutions and much more. Come learn about how the landowners achieved recognition as a model property and how best management practices have improved their property and protected natural resources, while saving time and money.
Bring your family & friends and questions you have about your property. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring a water bottle and wear sturdy boots as we'll be in the field.
This tour is put on by the Small Acreage Program which is made possible by joint sponsorship from WSU Clark County Extension and Clark County Environmental Services Clean Water Program.
WSU Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Persons requiring special accommodations should call WSU Clark County Extension at (360) 397-6060 ext. 0 at least two weeks prior to the event.
