SPANISH GUITAR KIDS COURSE - BEGINNER LEVEL (6-11 years)
Recently arrived from Spain to the US, Juan Ortiz is a versatile guitarist that has played with a wide variety of groups and ensembles. From the Spanish National Orchestra and Madrid Symphonic Orchestra to Jazz ensembles like David Dominique Jazz Band, Juan has been creating his personal style in both classical and electric guitar.
Juan Ortiz has also developed his teaching style for fifteen years. Both in Madrid, and Chicago, Juan has taught guitar courses in more than a dozen of music schools. Juan is currently teaching music in Bucktown Music, Chicago.
This level is designed for students that have not previously studied music or guitar. We will start from the beginning with playing notes, rhythms, and basic chords on the guitar. We will also explore new musical concepts such as rhythm and beat, which will help in our musical development. By the end of the course, you will be able to play simple songs and basic melodies.
Classes meet every Thursday starting May 9th to June 13th from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
