The Portable Folk Music Festival
The "Portables", a Hartford based folk music group, have been around since 1974 entertaining audiences throughout the Northeast and beyond. They are currently a 12 member band playing such instruments as guitar,fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, hammered dulcimer, bowed psaltery, accordian, whistles and many hand held percussion instruments. Their style of music ranges from traditional to the obscure. Most all of their songs have sing-a-long choruses and they warmly invite the audience to join in. They have played at many events across CT and even opened for Pete Seeger once! Please join them at the last Sounding Board concert of the season.
Admission: $16.00 general, $14 members.
