"The Beautiful Game" is an inspirational feature documentary about the power of soccer in modern Africa. Soccer, unlike anything else, builds community across a continent of 54 countries often at odds with each other. In the words of Desmond Tutu, featured in the film, "soccer isn't like a religion in Africa. It is bigger than a religion." Weaving together stories of 6 African nations, "The Beautiful Game" offers proof that soccer is a time-honored and overwhelmingly successful developmental force.
