2013 Puget Sound Region Awards Banquet
Online ticket sales have ended. Tickets will be $35 at the door the day of the event.
The 2013 Puget Sound Region of USA Volleyball Awards Banquet will take place at 7pm May 17 at the Metropolis Banquet Hall in Renton, Washington. The event will recognize the individuals and teams who achieved excellence during the 2012-2013 season.
The keynote speaker for the event with be the new Seattle University Head Volleyball Coach James Finley. The event will also include a viewing of the trailer for Court and Spark, A Volleyball Documentary and recognition of the teams that will represent the Puget Sound Region at the Girls Junior National Championships.
The Awards Presented
Puget Sound RegionVolleyball Hall of Fame Award The Puget Sound Region established this special recognition in 2011. This award was established to recognize excellence within our growing region. Awarded to coaches, players, officials, or parents who have demonstrated extraordinary long term service to our region.
All Region Team Juniors from any age group are eligible for this award. Players who are nominated for this award should demonstrate excellence above their peers in two or more of the following categories: athletic ability, inspiration, community service,teamwork, leadership or academics.
Sand Player of the Year This award recognizes an all around sand player who has show a commitment and love for the sand volleyball game. Players who are nominated should be competitive among their peers, and demonstrated a commitment to the sport. A Player who has helped to grow the sand game in some way would be a great nominee for this award.
Wayne Gardner Award Most Inspirational Awarded to a member of the regionwho has demonstrated the ability to inspire their athletes to become better in the game of volleyball and life! Someone who is nominated for this award should show the ability to elevate their players through their words and actions.
Bill Neville Award for Leadership This award is to recognize a member of the region whose leadership has gone above and beyond what is expected. Nominees should be a good mentor to their team and fellow coaches. This award is named appropriately after one of the greatest leaders in the game of volleyball, and from our region, Bill Neville!
Newcomers Award Nominees for this award are from our U14 or younger age groups. They should be in their first year of volleyball, and have demonstrated a great love and dedication to the sport. They may have inspired others to play through their own enjoyment of the game.
