After a short hiatus the one and only Oakland Poetry Slam & WIDE-Open-Mic returns to action with a scant TWO shows left in the "regular season"! That's right poets, this show (Thurs 4/11) and next show (Thurs 4/25) are the last chances you'll have to qualify (in Oakland) for this year's Bay Area Unified Team. That said, it should be a pretty balls out slam (poets, it's an ALL ages show so please keep your actual balls where they belong!). That's right, our new venue is ALL ages! They also have FOOD and Beer/Wine too so bring the kiddies, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the show. Do NOTE the slightly later start time though. The show will get rolling at 9:30pm sharp!
As always we'll start the show off with our patented WIDE-Open-Mic, hosted by Dre, where we welcome poets, singers, comedians and performers of every type and stripe to step to the stage and entertain our audience. For any poets or other folks wanting to get on the mic we have a super-special half-price discount for you too... just sign up at the door and you get the low low admission price of just $5!
