TUDOR CHOIR 2013-2014 SUBSCRIPTION SERIES
Featuring the rich heritage of English choral music, the Tudor Choir's 2013-2014 season includes a survey of English sacred music, a concert of Advent carols and motets, our annual Christmas concert, a performance of early English devotional music, and a sequence of psalms and songs. The choir will be joined by an instrumental ensemble, the Tudor Players, for two performances.
All concerts will be performed at historic Blessed Sacrament Church in Seattle's University District, where the choir is a resident ensemble.
For those who might be out of town for the holidays, take advantage of subscription savings and simply give your December concert tickets away as a gift!
Subscription prices represent more than a 20% discount off single ticket prices, and subscribers and their guests sit in a reserved section in the front of the church.
PLEASE NOTE: When purchasing a subscription, subscribers will receive only one ticket (for the October 26 concert) from Brown Paper Tickets. The remaining four series tickets will be available to be picked up at the first series concert on October 26. For subscribers opting for will call tickets, all five series tickets will be available for pick up at the October 26 concert.

ENGLISH CHRISTMAS: Traditional Carols for Christmas and the New Year

The Tudor Choir and Players celebrate an English Christmas with traditional carols and three holiday classics: Christmas Day by Gustav Holst, In Terra Pax by Gerald Finzi, and Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
The concert will be preceded by the popular lighting of the 30-foot Blessed Sacrament Christmas tree.

Throughout the Middle Ages, England's celebrated Sarum Rite was enriched and adorned with extra-liturgical devotions, often of a local and personal nature. The Tudor Choir offers a window on this beautiful late-medieval world of impassioned music and candlelit ritual.
