QSO Tour of Heart & Mind Homecoming Show
To mark the return home of the Queer Songbook Orchestra after their monumental cross Canada Tour of Heart & Mind, the ensemble will be performing a one-night only show at the Jam Factory on November 4.
The QSO's Tour of Heart & Mind saw the group performing in small to mid size Canadian cities, places where queerness has less visibility than in the countries largest urban centres. From Whitehorse, Yukon to St. John's, Newfoundland, with an emphasis on the prairies and east coast, the QSO traversed the country sharing stories of lived queer experience along with the songs most deeply connected to them.
The stories were sourced through a nationwide call out, which received submissions extending from Victoria, BC to Charlottetown, PEI. Pared down to 11 stories selected for the tour, these narratives and their accompanying songs brought audiences throughout the country to laughter, tears and to deeper understanding of the depth and beauty of queer experience.
The homecoming show will feature the talents of QSO regular vocalists Alanna Stuart, Alex Samaras, Thom Gill, Lief Mosbaugh, and QSO poet Stephen Jackman-Torkoff. Arrangements of the material included in this show were commissioned from Cris Derksen, Owen Pallett, Nick Storring, La-Nai Gabriel, Mich Cota, B McCarroll-Butler, Giorgio Magnanensi, Thom Gill & Johnny Spence.
As is customary in QSO performances, the narratives will be read alongside the songs by members of the local 2SLGBTQ community.

**We regret that the Jam Factory is not an accessible venue, and we extend our deepest apologies for this. We strive to make all our shows as accessible to all members of the community as possible, and with the short timeline in which to make this performance possible we were unable to secure an accessible venue.**
