PRESENTATION: : How Do You Eat an Elephant? A Project Controls Approach to Very Large Projects Project controls requirements can vary based on the project size, project cost, location and environment in which they are being executed. This presentation shows the differences and similarities of how project controls are applied to different projects in size and industry including Oil & Gas and Nuclear and some of the issues faced during the execution.
PRESENTER: Peter George Peter George is well known for his brilliant, instructing talent and techniques. Recently retired as the Director of Major Projects for Nuclear at Ontario Power Generation. He was previously responsible for project controls and account management for several core clients including Encana, Suncor and ConocoPhillips, as part of multiple Programs in Northern Alberta and British Columbia. Peter has over thirty years of experience in Project Controls Management, Planning/Scheduling, Cost Management, Estimating, and Risk Analysis in the home office as well as at site. He has worked in Canada, South America, Russia, the Philippines and the United States and has experience on projects up to $7 billion in value, in fields as varied as Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Potash, Mining and Metals, and Infrastructure Projects.

TIME: Please note that our meeting times have moved up by half hour as requested by several of our members. 5:00pm - Social Hour 6:00pm - Dinner 6:45pm - Program
COST: The member price for this event is $32.00 if you register before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting; late registration is $37.00. Non-members price is $39.00 before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting, and $45.00 thereafter.
Please note that registration will be closed Monday, November 5th, at 8:00 pm.
A very limited of first come first served meals will be available at the door.
MENU: Curry Roasted Prawns with Mango Chutney, Petite New York Strip, and Vegetarian (requires one week advance notice).

AACE Seattle Section meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from September through June (excluding December). Each meeting with a technical presentation qualifies for .25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) towards your CCP/CEP/CFCC/DRMP/EVP/PSP recertification requirements.
