Gratitude Dinner
Since the August 2018 ICE raid, Raid Relief to Reunite Families has been meeting with the families of detained individuals for a weekly meal and to assist the families in any way possible. Due to the generous contributions of our community, many of the detained men have been released on bond and are now pursuing permanent resident status. In gratitude for all of the support and solidarity they have been shown, the families affected by the raid would like to prepare a meal for the wider community. This will be a chance to get to know the individuals that Raid Relief to Reunite Families has been working with, and it will also be a chance for our community to continue to support these families as they navigate the complicated and expensive process of remaining in the United States. Of the original sixteen men who were detained, eight have already been deported. Raid Relief to Reunite Families has been offering ongoing financial support to the spouses, children, and parents who were left behind, many of whom no longer have an income. Community to Community Development, the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship and Granite Pre-cast are proud to sponsor this event. Please join us in solidarity with these families, and help us continue to support the work of Raid Relief to Reunite Families. If you are unable to attend the dinner, please consider making a donation toward the financial needs of this community.
