Presented By: Dealy Renton and Collins Collins Muir + Stewart As the California employment law landscape continues to evolve, its crucial to stay educated on how the law affects you, whether you're a firm owner or employee. The presentation will provide an overview of the new employment laws in California and provide actionable advice for mitigating risk in an area that most design professionals do not consider in their day-to-day practice.
This seminar will cover:
-An overview of recent developments in California employment law and explain how such developments impact design professionals.
-Explain the various insurance products available for design professionals to ensure protection against employment-related claims.
-Provide advice on how to mitigate risk on a day to day basis for design professionals
-Clear up misconceptions about whether certain types of claims (i.e., employment claims) are covered by standard insurance products.

Presenters:
Spenser H. Lauro is an insurance broker in the design professional practice of Dealey, Renton & Associates. With over 7 years of experience as an insurance broker; Spenser specializes in helping design professionals find unique solutions to challenging insurance and risk management related matters. Spenser earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, and is licensed with the California Department of Insurance as an insurance broker. He holds affiliate memberships at the AIA Orange County, Structural Engineering Association of Southern California, the ACEC Orange County chapter, and is on the board of directors for the Orange County Canstruction event. Spenser is a native Southern Californian residing in Newport Beach, CA.
Stephen Litchfield is a transactional and trial attorney in the Orange County office of Collins Collins Muir + Stewart LLP. He focuses his practice on the representation of professionals with an emphasis on advising architects, engineers, and other design firms. Mr. Litchfields practice includes a full range of transactional services and he regularly counsels clients on a variety of corporate needs, including formation, compliance, capital structure, mergers, and acquisitions, in addition to advising on real estate matters, trademark disputes, and copyright law. He also regularly litigates a wide range of actions with a focus on professional liability, employment law, and real estate matters.
