Shane Leonard and Humbird solo acoustic at Dotters Bookstore
Producer, all-purpose studio musician and songwriter Shane Leonard has packed a lot of music into his modest thirty three years. Having grown up playing jazz with musicians generations older than him, dropped out of music school to become an English teacher, and left that to study fiddle and banjo with Appalachian elders, Shane's writing and playing comes from all kinds of angles. With a resume including acts such as Field Report, Kalispell, and many others, Shane is set to release his debut solo album early next year.
Creating music out of a mosaic of influences like Joni Mitchell, Bon Iver and Bill Frisell, Humbird weaves it all together with powerful lyrics and a stubborn pursuit of the sound of the North.
