Join Steve Schwartz - founder of Farmlink and the Interfaith Sustainable Food Collaborative - on his family farm overlooking the Laguna De Santa Rosa for an afternoon of Slow Food conviviality, play, and food that is good, clean, and fair.
New Carpati Farm has chicken, polycerate Jacob sheep, and grows berries, and mushrooms.
Make your own oyster mushroom growing kit, and learn how to take care of it, or bring home a pound of New Carpati shitake and oyster mushrooms.
Comparative mushroom tasting, contrasting shitake with two varieties of oyster mushrooms.
Pizza with and w/o mushrooms will be served with chef Rick Rozet's famous pizza crust. Salad with greens grown on-site from Brad Thompson's Roots of Creation Farm.
This is a BYO beverage, BYO place setting, and BYO musical instrument event.
Parking is limited so please carpool. Park on the street at the end of this cul-de-sac if the lot has filled up.
For this event we like at least one member of your party to be a Slow Food member. You can join at the door. Yearly membership fee is $25. This supports our work to make our food system good, clean, and fair. If this creates an obstacle to joining the event please contact us and we can discuss.
