Resilient Design as a Driver of Sustainability
Speaker: Alex Wilson

Resilience is the ability to bounce back following a disturbance or interruption. In this presentation, Alex Wilson will address resilient design in the context of a transition toward sustainability. He will cover a wide range of practical solutions, from boosting energy performance of homes to maintain livable conditions during extended power outages, to redesigning communities to function without gasoline and encouraging local food production.
Bio:
Alex Wilson is the president of the Resilient Design Institute, in Brattleboro, Vermont, a nonprofit organization that he founded in 2012. He is also the founder of BuildingGreen, Inc. and has served as executive editor of Environmental Building News since the publication's launch in 1992.
