A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy written by William Shakespeare in 1595/96. Our production will utilize a script that has been adapted by Drama Director Bob Russell that changes the setting to Athens High School in 1989. It portrays the events that surround the marriage of Principal Theseus to Ms. Hippolyta (the no nonsense Gym Teacher), the adventures of four love-struck Athens High School teens, and a group of six amateur actors (employees of the school) who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set.
A Midsummer Night's Dream is rated PG for adult content.
